Beijing, Aug. 26 (xinhua) -- the Chinese embassy in Belgium opened the consular service robot in the reception hall of the consular section on August 26, becoming the first Chinese diplomatic institution in the world to open the robot consular service.
Cao zhongming, Chinese ambassador to Belgium, and goffin, CEO of zola robotics, jointly launched lingling, a consular service robot.
According to reports, 'ling ling' was jointly developed by the Chinese embassy in Belgium and zola robot company in Belgium. Its hardware came from China xinsong robot automation company, its software was developed by zola company, and its functions and application scenarios were designed by the embassy.'Lingling' will be posted at the consular section of the Chinese embassy in Belgium, providing consular consultation, window guidance, weather, traffic and other practical information inquiry and common website browsing services.
Cao zhongming said in his speech that the launch of the consular service robot is an innovative measure by the embassy to implement the principle of 'putting people first, diplomacy for the people' and promote services for the convenience and benefit of the people.The embassy will continue to work with zola to launch a more intelligent and upgraded consular service robot as soon as possible, so as to provide better services to all sectors of society.
